Hospital’s Maternity Staff to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week 2020 virtually
09 October 2020

Staff from Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT’s Maternity Department will be marking this year’s Baby Loss Awareness Week online.

The annual Wave of Light event will be held online on at 7pm on Thursday 15 October to mark the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week.  Families are encouraged to get involved at home by lighting a candle and uploading the picture on social media using the hashtag #WaveOfLight.

Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place every year between the 9 – 15 October and is an opportunity for:

  • Bereaved parents, and their families and friends, to unite with others across the world to commemorate their baby’s live
  • Raising awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK
  • Driving improvements in the care and support of those affected.

As well as creating a wave of light, the Trust will raise a flag for Baby Loss Awareness Week at the Hospital.

The Trust is also hosting a Memorial Service online on Sunday 15 November. If anyone would like their baby’s name read out at the memorial, they need to email toni.singleton@tgh.nhs.uk.
