Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT have teamed up with GatenbySanderson to take part in in their Insight programme, which aims to build a diverse talent pool for NHS non-executive boards.
The first round is expected to last for six months and starts this month. Abdul Hamied is the Trust’s first placement. Abdul Hamied will be undertaking the full role of a Non-Executive Director during his time with the Board, including engagement in developing key strategies and policies, and contributing to the Board’s work in monitoring and improving the performance of the Trust against key indicators. He will also be involved, as are other Non-Executive Directors, in more detailed work through Board Committees; and is expected to be involved in the work of the Workforce Committee, and the Quality and Governance Committee. Abdul will also be attending the meetings of our Council of Governors, who have the responsibility to hold the Board to account for performance on behalf of the community we serve.
Abdul is Transformation Lead (Culture Team) at NHS England and has had a number of senior healthcare and local government appointments in the North West.

Insight has been developed by GatenbySanderson to give prospective Non-Executive Directors and Trustees from under-represented groups first-hand experience of how Boards in the public and not for profit sectors work. The programme is designed to offer practical help to participants when applying for non-executive positions.
