99.6% of BAME workforce at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT have had COVID -19 Risk Assessments
19 August 2020

The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff is a top priority at the Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT and that is why we are offering risk assessments to all our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coping with a pandemic is something many members of our staff have not seen in their lifetime but at Team Tameside and Glossop we have adapted and responded as well as we could have.

Evidence and data is telling us that not everyone has been impacted by the virus in the same way. Staff who are pregnant, staff living with long term conditions, older staff, BAME staff and male staff have been identified as groups who face greater risk from the impact of the virus than other groups.

Although the Trust’s COVID 19 staff risk assessments are available to all staff upon request, we have had to respond to this disproportionate risk with the necessary pace to keep all staff equally safe.

Ensuring all staff have the right PPE, that  infection prevention protocols are observed at all times and staff health, safety and wellbeing conversations are a part of business as usual activity, continue to be top priority for the Trust.

As you can see from the table below, 99.6% of BAME staff have had a risk assessment completed with four out of our six divisions achieving a rate of 100%.

Risk assessments will also continue to be a part of everyday life for managers to lead to ensure we offer the best care to both our staff and patients.
