We have updated our visiting guidelines to reflect changes to our Maternity Unit
05 August 2020

At Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT two birth partners may accompany mum to be when she is in active labour. The birth partners will be encouraged to remain in the allocated room at all times. If this is not possible they may be asked to leave as we must keep movement around the unit to an absolute minimum. Both birth partners will be asked to leave once the woman is ready to be transferred to the postnatal ward. PPE must be used in line with Trust recommendations.

Partners are also now able to attend for all booking and anomaly scans, however, they will be invited to attend for the scan only and must wait outside of the department for the remainder of the woman’s appointment, providing that there are no concerns raised from the scan.
