Last week MP for Denton, Andrew Gwynne came to Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT to give a citizen award to one of our donors William Mahaffey.

William has been donating hundreds of bottles of water to the Trust to do his bit to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andrew Gwynne MP thanked William for his community spirit and all he had done in collecting donations of water and dropping them off at the Trust.

William met Andrew and Chief Executive of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT, Karen James OBE, when he came to drop off more donations of water on Thursday. The meeting was held 2 meters apart due to the current social distancing guidance.

William has been donating the water to the Trust with the help of childhood friend and nurse, Leanne Morgan.

Chief Executive of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT, Karen James OBE, said “I would like to say thank you to William for all of his hard work supporting and providing donations to the Trust. I know that the water William has donated has really helped our staff and patients during this unprecedented time.”
