Jackie Bird, The Chief Nurse and Executive Director of Quality at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust visited our Trust last week to present our Macmillan Unit with the Christie Quality Mark.
The Christie Quality Mark was awarded for the excellent care they deliver to all Christie cancer patients.
The Christie Quality Mark Accreditation was introduced in response to the Christie patients’ expressing a need to be assured that wherever they receive their treatment, they can feel confident that it will always be of the same high standard.
The Quality Mark is awarded to units delivering treatments to Christie patients that demonstrate achievement of a number of standards. These standards are developed and agreed by a Christie multi-disciplinary team, which includes patient representatives.
Treatment units are checked against these standards every 3 years.
