Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT is committed to reducing acts of violence and aggression
04 March 2019

Security staff at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT are now equipped with video cameras. It is hoped that the new body worn cameras will help to reduce acts of violence and aggression on the sites managed by the ICFT.

The plan is that security staff will turn on the cameras in order to record the following acts committed on hospital premises:

  • Acts or threats of violence or aggression
  • Any intimidating or unreasonable behaviour
  • Act or threats of criminal behaviour, including actual or attempted
  • Vandalism or criminal damage
  • Acts or verbal or racial abuse or other anti-social behaviour

Offenders will be notified when equipment is to be switched on and recording commenced. Where appropriate, recordings will be passed to the Police for further investigation and prosecution.

Anyone wanting more information about the scheme can contact out security team on 0161 922 6688.
