We are pleased to confirm, following a successful recruitment and interview process, that Peter Weller will be the Trust’s new Director of Nursing and Integrated Governance.
Peter currently works with NHS Improvement where he has been working as Senior Clinical Lead for the North. Peter has been working with the Regional Chief Nurse & Medical Director providing professional nursing leadership, advice and clinical guidance to non-clinical NHS Teams and provider organisations, the regional delivery teams and their directors.
Peter’s life in the NHS began in nursing and he has held a number of senior nursing positions throughout his career, including Assistant Director of Nursing and Clinical Governance at Cumbria and Lancashire SHA.
Peter’s career also includes senior positions within governance in the NHS including his time at Tameside and Glossop where he held the position of Director of Quality and Governance.
When asked, Peter said this about his appointment: “I’m delighted to be coming back to Tameside and Glossop and playing a key role in its integrated health and care ambitions. It’s a forward looking NHS Trust with a clear vision to improve the health of the local population it serves. I am really looking forward to joining Team Tameside and Glossop.”

Peter will join Tameside and Glossop IC NHS FT on the 1st February 2019.
