Tameside GP Tackles Exercise Issue
12 January 2017

Dr Surabhi Sinha and Dr Ajith Prabhakaran surgery based at St Andrews House Stalybridge, have stuck up a partnership with a not for profit local social enterprise group Fit Over Fifty, to offer 10 free chair based exercise sessions.  These sessions will start on 7th February at 10-30am at the surgery and are free to people over the age of 50 because Fit Over Fifty have received a grant from Brother UK, national company based in Audenshaw. This is part of their continuing support for local community groups in Tameside.

Its believed to be the first GP in the north west to hold such sessions that not only help with general well being, but also helps alleviate isolation in older people in Tameside .

The sessions provided by Fit Over Fifty who run classes throughout Tameside(along with a Chaperon service for the same age group) will last 30 min and there will be time for a cuppa and a chat afterwards with the Mayor of Tameside.
